Dear Daughter

Dear Darling Angela,

I am glad to see that you are getting such good sleep at night that 4:00am seems like a good time to wake up, but in reality you still have a few more hours left until it's time to get up. Maybe it's that you figured that's when Daddy leaves for work and you want to spend some time with him, and I can appreciate that, as long as Daddy is still home to put you back to sleep.

Also, even though our relationship at this point is based off of only 6 months of being together (nearly 24-7), I can assure you that I will never abandon you, and would appreciate if you could give me the benefit of the doubt on this issue. If I put you down on the floor and walk away, I'm not leaving you forever, I'm probably going to get you a toy or get myself a drink of water so I don't die of dehydration. So, there is no need to scream at the top of your lungs and scrunch your face up. You look much prettier when you don't do that.

Lastly, I know that I'm the coolest Mommy that you've ever known, but I'm really not THAT much fun to be with. It's ok if you take nice long naps like most babies your age. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder, so you could assume we might even have MORE fun together if we got to have a nice break once in a while to recharge our batteries.

With Much Love,

Your Mommy

  1. What a beautiful letter! Now if only she could read it when it counts.
I love my daughter. She always tries to keep a positive spin on things. Excellent effort. A
